Updated over 2 years ago

Is Touch Surgery Enterprise a wired or wireless solution?

For uploading videos: The DS1 Computer connects to the Internet through a wired Ethernet cable only.

The connection information is as below:

WiFi Hotspot - 5GHz - no internet connection
Unique visible WiFi SSID (WiFI name) per DS1 Computer
Unique password per DS1, only used by the Touch SurgeryTM Enterprise implementation team. The password uses WPA2-PSK security protection

For consumption of videos: Uploaded videos can be accessed wirelessly through touchsurgery.com, or the iOS or Android mobile apps.

What type of network connectivity and speed is required?

The DS1 connects to the internet through 10/100/1000 BASE-T Ethernet. A normal internet connection speed suffices.

What infrastructure is required to accommodate the connection?

The DS1 requires a power outlet, an Ethernet connection, and a video source. A medical-grade power cord, an Ethernet cable, and HDMI and DVI video cables are provided with the device.

What vendor support is provided for Touch SurgeryTM Enterprise?

Medtronic does not require a remote connection to the customer’s network for DS1 support. Most of the maintenance support will be performed onsite at the customer’s facility by Medtronic staff. On rare occasions, a Medtronic team member may need to work with / guide an onsite Hospital IT team member, using a desktop screen share or local SSH session to provide troubleshooting and maintenance support for the DS1.
