What is the bandwidth of the connection?
Touch SurgeryTM Enterprise has no minimum bandwidth requirement. However, you will find that video data transfer is faster the higher the bandwidth of your institution’s network. The quality of your internet connectivity can also improve speeds of data transfer. We recommend at least 30 Mbps for optimal performance of the video preview feature.
What is the average size of a recording?
On average, one hour of recording will amount to a 1 GB file.
How many Mbps/Kbps does the preview function use to upload?
Segments of 2 MB will be uploaded approximately every 5 seconds, or 24 MB per minute, in Preview Mode. This will take about 30 Mbps of bandwidth.
How can we ensure reliable connections?
The connection is as reliable as the hospital’s own network. If the network connection fails while uploading, the surgical video is stored locally in the DS1, which has 1TB of storage. The DS1 does not delete locally saved videos until they are fully uploaded to the cloud platform, or their deletion is manually triggered by a user.
Can video uploads be disrupted by coverage or interference issues?
The DS1 Computer connects to the Internet only through a wired Ethernet connection. It is not affected by wireless coverage or interference issues.
